ALL PERSONS ENTERING, COMPETING OR OTHERWISE TAKING PART IN ANY UDEC EVENT SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS HAVING READ AND ACCEPTED THE FOLLOWING REGULATIONS.
1. THE SHOW ORGANISERS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ACCIDENT OCCURING AT THIS SHOW.
2. All horses and ponies must be insured for public liability. Individual Personal Accident insurance is the responsibility of the owner/rider to arrange if required.
3. It is strongly recommended that all horses/ponies attending are vaccinated against Equine Influenza. Random passport checks maybe carried out at any time. Animals should NOT be brought onto the show field if they are showing any signs of illness, even if vaccinated.
4. Horse riding is considered a risk sport, and you compete at your own risk.
5. The committee reserve the right to split, amalgamate, alter, or amend the schedule or running order of classes at any given time.
6. No lunging on the show ground anywhere including in the working in areas.
7. Entry fees will not be refunded/credited, and it will be the competitor’s responsibility to ensure their entry is correct and eligible and available when their class is called.
8. All entries must be paid for prior to the time of entry.
9. Horses and ponies must be always ridden at walk whilst on the show field unless competing in a class or in a designated working-in area.
10. Any objection must be lodged immediately with any committee member. Complaints must be in writing with a £10 deposit, this will be refunded if the complaint is upheld by the chair and the committee.
11. Foul/abusive language or any words or actions towards Judges Officials or competitors or persons will not be tolerated, and any persons found in breach of this will be asked to leave the show field and membership terminated immediately.
12. The committee reserve the right to alter or add to the rules at any given time.
13. The mucking out of horse boxes/trailers on the field is prohibited.
14. Please scoop your dog poop.
15. All dogs must be always on leads.
16. All litter must be placed in the bins provided.
17. Ring entrances must be kept clear at all times for safety reasons.
18. Please do not park in the farmyard. Parking is at the top of the field for cars. (near the entrance gate)
The Judges decision is final in all instances.
UDEC Showing rules
1. Correctly fitted and secured riding hats/skullcap that meet the current BHS safety standard must be always worn whilst mounted.
2. Back protectors may be worn
3. Lead reins must be always attached to the nose band whilst on the show ground.
4. Lead rein riders are not permitted to enter other classes off the lead rein nor to be off the lead rein outside of the ring.
5. Lead rein riders must be always accompanied by an adult on the show field.
6. Spurs must not be worn by junior riders in any class or in the M +M, veteran, show pony, show hunter pony or working hunter pony classes.
7. Show canes or whips must not exceed 30cms.
8. Fall of horse or rider will result in disqualification and they must leave the ring UN-mounted. This applies to all classes.
9. Snaffle bits to be worn in all equitation classes unless otherwise stated. Martingales, boots, or bandages will not be accepted.
10. M+M/type classes should be unplaited.
11. Tack for showing classes will be at the Judge’s discretion.
12. No outside assistance will be tolerated in any show ring.
13. In working hunter classes no change of tack between phases is permitted, however boots must be removed after the jumping phase.
14. Riders or acquaintances are not permitted to alter fences in the ring without being requested by the course builder or judge.
15. Excessive use or the whip will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
16. Young handlers to always wear a hard hat whilst showing ridden or in hand.
17. Stallions must be handled/ridden only by persons 16yrs and over.
18. Stallions must be identified by some visible means.
19. Horses and ponies ridden classes to be 4yrs old or over.
20. An animal behaving dangerously in the ring or show field will be asked to leave.
21. All riders to have attained their 3rd birthday by the 1st of January in the current year to be eligible to compete.
22. The starter ridden equitation class is for competitors in their first year of competing or their first year off the lead rein. You cannot enter any other equitation class. Parents/guardian may accompany the competitor however lead reins are not to be used. Cantering is optional. You may only enter this class for one season.
23. If you enter a novice class in either working hunter or show jumping ring you must only enter corresponding classes in the other ring.
24. Competitors are not to leave the ring without the Judges permission.
25. It is the competitor’s responsibility to be aware of what class is being ran in each ring at any given time.
26. It is up to the competitors or their representative to inform the ring steward or judge if they cannot be present in the ring at the start of the class to be judged due to being in another ring/class. The committee cannot be responsible for competitors missing their classes. No refunds will be given.
27. Every effort where possible will be made to accommodate competitors, however this will be at the Judge’s discretion.
28. Consideration must be always shown to all other competitors and officials.
